Right Now

At this moment I’m not worried about the stain on my carpet, made bigger by my attempt to steam clean it myself.

I am not worried about surviving the recession, or storms entering the Gulf.

I’m not worried about my children eating too much junk food and watching too much TV.

I’m not worried about any potential threats to my favorite teenagers and twenty-somethings.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I’m not worried. It’s been a four-day weekend with nothing much to do.

I embrace the boring with an appreciative heart.

Thank God for the quiet. I don’t expect it to last.
